Building robots as a hobby is becoming increasingly popular. There are any number of companies out there with robot parts and kits for sale, from beginners to advanced builders. The level of technology in some of these kits can be quite high and unfortunately so can the price.
Sadly some of us don’t have the money to spend on that six legged walking robot with twelve servos, aluminum frame and the latest high speed processor.For some of us making do with what you have is the only choice. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing though. It does teach you to be more creative and can lead you in different directions from the normal line of thought.

By using hot glue to hold the servos together and fixing the receiver and battery to them you have made the body. Bend some coat hanger wire for the legs, start twiddling the control sticks and your robot is walking. Well, it’s almost that easy. The point is that you can do a lot with a radio control set and a few servos, you just need some inspiration. Search the web for walking robots and you will find thousands of sites to get ideas from. Insects, especially beetles, are always good for ideas (mainly because they look like micro robots already). Even if you don’t already have a radio control set, your budget may allow you to buy one. They are not that expensive anymore.Building robots this way is loads of fun, most of the materials you need can be found at home and you might learn more along the way than you expect

Having many hobbies, requires math in many different fields. Take designing for example, fabrics are like geometry, they have different shapes and textures, that require sharp measurements. Another example would be medicine, you must be very careful as to how much medicine you are giving your patient, or else the patient could suffer serious injuries.

Wedding invitations, digital scrapbooking, digital paper … help!!!?
My BFF is getting married next year and since I’m into paper crafts I offered to do her invitations and programs as my gift to her. She has chosen burnt orange as her main color and I can’t seem to find any suitable patterned paper with burnt orange and ivory/ecru/cream, etc. to use as the background for the layered invitations I promised her. I am in the Caribbean and it’s next to impossible to find patterned paper/cardstock in my country. In my online searches I’ve noticed digital scrapbooking and digital paper but I am SOOO busy I don’t have time to learn all about them.
Can you tell me what digital paper is? What about digital scrapbooking – what’s that? Can you recommend a great website where I can download “paper” that might be suitable for her invitations, paper that I buy once and can use any way I like, as often as I like?

Digital scrapbook background papers generally come as digital files (in JPEG format at 3600 by 3600 pixels, or 300 pixels per inch if you print it as a 12″ by 12″).
If you purchase a digital scrapbook kit (which can be all papers, or sometimes a mix of papers and embellishments), you can use graphics or photo software to print just the paper for use in paper crafts or paper scrapbooking projects. If you have a standard size printer, that means you’ll really only be able to print the paper at 8″ by 8″ because standard printers do not print at 12″ wide. To print the paper at 12″ wide, you’d need to have a special wide-format printer by Epson, Hewlett-Packard or other makers of wide-format printers.

Hi, i’m a guy who wants to get a indoor flying RC to give at christmas. Is there a certain model or company that is decent and easy to play with? for a decent price?
There are some cheap models available,battery powered,Styrofoam, easy to assemble. Most large stores carry them check the toy section.

i am really interested in aerodynamics and my dad who works for an airline company said he would buy me an RC helicopter i am willing to go up to 400 dollars do u know any good models for me (i am 14) and do u need a licsense for using it i am hoping to get a small one first but a good one (top notch) then later get a big one any ideas
